Njeguši, Mountain village in Cetinje, Montenegro.

Njeguši is a mountain village situated at around 900 meters elevation and surrounded by limestone mountains. From this location, views extend toward the Bay of Kotor, and you can find households producing local items such as brandy, wine, and cheese.

The village was the birthplace of Petar II Petrovic Njegos, who later became a prominent ruler and poet of Montenegro. This connection shapes the place's importance in Montenegrin history.

Families here produce cheese and smoked ham using methods passed down through many generations, and these crafts are central to who they are. You can see this knowledge in action when you visit the households and watch how people work.

Visitors can buy local products directly from households along the main road, including grape brandy, wine, and dried goat cheese. It helps to arrive early in the day when residents are more available for conversation and transactions.

The village contains around 50 stone houses that function almost like an open-air museum of traditional mountain architecture. This older building style has remained remarkably intact in this region.
