Nehalem Beach

Nehalem Beach extends along the Pacific Ocean, featuring a wide stretch of fine sand bordered by dense coastal forests and rolling dunes.

The beach became part of Oregon's public lands in 1938 when Tillamook County transferred the initial tract to establish Nehalem Bay State Park.

Local fishermen regularly gather at the beach to catch Chinook salmon, sturgeon, and steelhead trout throughout different seasons of the year.

Visitors can access multiple designated parking areas and walking paths that connect to both the beach and the 1.8-mile forest bike trail.

The beach sits between the Pacific Ocean and Nehalem Bay, creating a distinctive environment where marine and estuarine ecosystems meet.
