Rangeley Lake State Park

Rangeley Lake State Park spans roughly 350 acres of woods and fields along the southern shore of the lake and features multiple trails, a sandy beach, and direct water access. The landscape consists of thick forest mixed with open spaces and the large lake that anchors the entire property.

The park was assembled starting in 1960 through a series of land purchases that eventually totaled around 350 acres. These acquisitions were supplemented by donations from property owners and timber companies that helped establish the park as it exists today.

The park sits in the path of a solar eclipse and offered visitors in 2024 the rare chance to observe the event from a vantage point on the water. This combination of natural setting and celestial event made the location a memorable destination for those interested in astronomy.
