Reptile World Serpentarium, Snake research center in St. Cloud, Florida, US
Reptile World Serpentarium is a snake facility in St. Cloud, Florida, housing approximately 80 different snake species in glass-fronted enclosures. Visitors can see king cobras, black mambas, and various rattlesnake species displayed throughout the building.
The facility began in 1972 as a venom extraction operation before opening to the public in 1976. Growth followed rising public interest in live snake handling demonstrations and education.
Through educational demonstrations and exhibits, the center contributes to scientific research by extracting venom used in medical treatments and pharmaceutical products.
The facility is accessible from East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway on the east side of St. Cloud and operates from Tuesday through Sunday. Plan to arrive early if you want to catch the scheduled demonstrations and educational talks throughout the day.
The center maintains 15 different cobra species and a specialized collection of East and West African Green Mambas in controlled conditions. This rare combination allows visitors to see how different venomous species behave and interact in similar environments.
