Opening in May 2013 with a construction cost exceeding 40 million dollars, this attraction replaced the former Penguin Encounter and Antarctic Market Restaurant.
The exhibit educates visitors about penguin behavior, marine conservation, and environmental impacts through interactive displays and educational presentations throughout the facility.
Visitors can observe more than 245 penguins, including gentoo, king, and Adélie species, through underwater viewing areas maintained at specific temperatures.
The facility requires 20,000 pounds of fresh snow daily and uses advanced lighting systems to replicate seasonal changes for the penguin colony.
