Skeletons: Animals Unveiled

Skeletons: Animals Unveiled is a museum housing over 500 authentic animal skeletons arranged in natural poses. The collection demonstrates anatomical differences between species and how these structures relate to each animal's physical abilities.

The museum opened in May 2015 and became the second osteology institution in the United States. It followed the successful model of an earlier museum in Oklahoma City and expanded this type of collection experience across the country.

The displays showcase skeletons from animals across different regions, helping visitors understand the variety of life on Earth. You can see how bone structure varies greatly depending on how each animal lives and moves.

The museum is located on International Drive and operates daily for visitors of all ages. The layout is walkable and well-organized, making it easy to move through the exhibits at your own pace.

The museum features a dedicated exhibit where dermestid beetles work continuously, demonstrating the natural process of cleaning bones. This process prepares skeletons for display in a way that mirrors how it happens in nature.
