Journey to Atlantis

Journey to Atlantis combines steel roller coaster elements with water ride features, incorporating multiple drops, turns, and splashdowns throughout the course. The ride alternates between fast-paced twists on the rails and sudden plunges into water for thrilling moments.

The attraction opened in 2003 as part of SeaWorld Orlando's effort to expand beyond traditional marine life exhibits and add thrill rides to its offerings. This marked a shift for the park toward larger adventure attractions.

The ride features design elements inspired by Greek mythology, with architecture and theming that references the legendary lost city of Atlantis. You can see these mythological details in the surroundings and decorations throughout the attraction.

Expect to get soaked during the ride, so store valuables in waterproof containers or leave them elsewhere before boarding. The attraction has a height requirement that visitors should verify before heading to the queue.

Adjacent to the ride, a gift shop features an aquarium exhibit called Jewels of the Sea that displays marine life in tanks built into the floor and ceiling. This quieter space provides a calming contrast to the intense thrills of the main ride.
