Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster

Wave Breaker is a steel coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio with jet ski-style seating that runs across multiple steel tracks suspended above the park's lake. The ride operates at top speeds around 44 mph.

The coaster opened in June 2017 after construction that involved partially draining the lake and installing around 300 concrete supports. The building process required major modifications to the park's layout.

The ride tells a story about saving marine animals, connecting the thrills to real conservation work that the park supports. Visitors experience how rescue missions inspire both entertainment and wildlife protection.

Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to experience this ride. The coaster has three trains with 16 seats each, allowing it to move many passengers through per hour.

The ride features an original musical score blending electric and orchestral sounds, composed specifically for this experience by Rick McKee. The music works with the motion to tell a complete rescue story.
