Maxis Tower, Office skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Maxis Tower is an office skyscraper in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre district, featuring a glass facade and 49 floors. It stands close to the Petronas Towers, within one of the most densely built-up areas of the Malaysian capital.
The building was completed in 1998, during a period when Kuala Lumpur was reshaping its city center at a fast pace. It was part of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre development project, which transformed a large section of the capital.
The tower serves as the headquarters of Maxis Communications, one of Malaysia's largest mobile operators, which gives the building a recognizable status in the local business world. Visitors passing through the ground floor will notice the busy pace of a working corporate hub.
The tower is easy to reach by metro, as KLCC station is just steps away. Since it is an office building, public access is generally limited to the entrance area.
The building was designed by the American firm Roche-Dinkeloo, the same office behind the Ford Foundation building in New York. This connection to a well-known American architectural practice is rarely mentioned by visitors exploring the area.
