Istana Bandar is a royal palace in Kampung Bandar, Jugra, Selangor, painted yellow and white, standing next to Masjid Sultan Alaeddin. Its architecture resembles Indian Islamic and Middle Eastern styles, and it now houses a Quran study centre and the Selangor Islamic Religious Department.

Istana Bandar was built in 1899, and Chinese workers recruited from nearby tin-mining activities took part in its construction. Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah, the fifth Sultan of Selangor, stayed here for 35 years from 1905, while his official residence remained in Klang. After his death in 1938 the palace was mothballed. Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the seventh Sultan, was born here.

The palace stands beside Masjid Sultan Alaeddin, and Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah came here for Friday prayers at that mosque. He held gatherings and religious ceremonies in the palace, and British officials and foreign guests visited during the 35 years he stayed here from 1905. The building is painted yellow and white.

Istana Bandar sits in Kampung Bandar, Jugra, next to Masjid Sultan Alaeddin, and there is no entrance fee. It is somewhat hidden, so look for the yellow-and-white building. A Smart Selangor stop about 2 km south is served by route BTG 2 to Banting; from Banting, BTG 1 reaches Salak Tinggi ERL and the airport, and route 730 connects to Klang.

Istana Bandar is also the birthplace of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the seventh Sultan of Selangor. The palace was built in 1899 with labour recruited from Chinese workers who had come for tin mining in the Klang Valley and Hulu Langat. After Sultan Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah died in 1938 the building was mothballed, and it now houses a Quran study centre and the Selangor Islamic Religious Department.
