Klang District

The district spans 626 square kilometers along the western coast of Selangor, incorporating the main city of Klang and Port Klang maritime facilities.

Archaeological discoveries from the Bronze Age, including drums, axes, and a bell from the 2nd century BC, indicate early human settlements in this region.

The population of 1.1 million residents represents diverse communities with Malays forming 43 percent, Chinese 26 percent, and Indians 19 percent of inhabitants.

Connected by multiple transport networks, the district includes two main administrative divisions: Klang and Kapar, with local governance managed by the Klang Royal City Council.

The district contains eight islands along its 53-kilometer coastline, with the Klang River flowing through the territory toward Port Klang.
