Khor Fakkan

Located on the Gulf of Oman coast, Khor Fakkan spans along a natural bay with white sand beaches surrounded by the Shumayliyah Mountains.

The Portuguese established a fortified outpost in Khor Fakkan during the 16th century to control maritime routes leading to the Persian Gulf.

The restored heritage village of Najd Al Miqsar preserves traditional architecture and displays local customs of the eastern coastal region.

The Khor Fakkan Container Terminal operates as the region's only natural deep-sea port, handling international maritime trade between Asia and the Middle East.

Archaeological excavations near Rifaisa Dam revealed 34 graves and settlement remains from the second millennium BC beneath the water reservoir.
