Elite Residence, High-tech residential skyscraper in Dubai Marina, United Arab Emirates
Elite Residence is a 380.5-metre residential skyscraper in Dubai Marina with 91 floors, 76 of them holding 695 apartments. Its square plan rises into a slender shaft, and below the crown the footprint narrows again before a pointed top ends in a metal mast. The facade is clad in beige-toned aluminium and stone between the windows.
Construction started in 2006, and the crown was mounted on 15 August 2011, bringing the tower to its final height. All work was finished and the building opened in August 2012; on 21 January 2012 it had become the third-tallest residential building in the world. The owners and developers are Emaar Properties and Tameer.
The tower's name appears in dark script on a panel above the arched glass entrance, and the address is Dubai Marina, overlooking Palm Jumeirah. Its 695 apartments sit on 76 of the 91 floors, while the remaining 15 hold parking, pools, spas, a health club, a business centre and a gymnasium shared by residents.
The tower has twelve elevators and four basement levels below the lobby, used mainly for building services. Amenities on the non-residential floors include car parking, swimming pools, spas, a health club, a business centre and a gymnasium. The highest occupied floor sits at 314 metres.
The tower's structural height of 380 metres leaves it just one metre shorter than the Empire State Building in New York. Its top occupied floor sits at 314 metres, and below the lobby lie four basement levels used mainly for building services.
