Princess Tower, Residential skyscraper in Dubai Marina, United Arab Emirates
Princess Tower is a residential skyscraper in Dubai Marina that extends over 101 floors and reaches a height of 414 meters (1358 feet). The structure contains hundreds of apartments of different sizes and retail spaces on the ground floor that offer residents direct access to services.
Construction began in 2005 and the building was completed in 2012 after being temporarily halted during the global financial crisis. The project marked a turning point in the development of Dubai Marina as a residential district with extreme density and height.
The name of the building reflects its position as one of the tallest residential towers in the world at the time of completion. Residents use communal areas on different levels that function as vertical neighborhoods within the facade.
Access to the building is from Sheikh Zayed Road and the streets in Dubai Marina, while visitors must be registered in advance. The upper floors offer wide views of the Persian Gulf and the surrounding development, which are particularly visible in clear weather.
The facade of the tower changes its color depending on the time of day and lighting conditions, created by the reflection of the glass panels. Each apartment has balconies that create outdoor areas for residents despite the extreme height.
