Sky Gardens, Residential tower in Dubai International Financial Centre, United Arab Emirates
Sky Gardens is a residential tower in the Dubai International Financial Centre, reaching 160 meters (525 feet) across 45 floors. The building offers apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units and penthouses at the top.
Construction started in March 2005, led by developer Caddick Developments, and the tower was completed in 2008 when Dubai was going through a period of fast real estate growth. It was built as part of the broader development of the financial district that shaped this part of the city.
Sky Gardens sits within the Dubai International Financial Centre, a district built specifically to attract international businesses. People who live there tend to work nearby, which gives the building a cosmopolitan, work-focused daily rhythm.
The tower sits alongside Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the main roads through the city, making it easy to reach other parts of Dubai. The surrounding district is compact enough to walk between offices, shops, and services without needing to travel far.
The building uses a type of glass that works like a one-way mirror during the day, letting people inside see out while those outside cannot see in. This effect relies on the difference in light levels between the inside and outside.
