The Hindu Temple is a structure clad in white marble with nine spires arranged around an octagonal footprint. Its design blends traditional Indian architectural styles with local Arabic design elements.

Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al Maktoum allowed a Hindu temple above shops in Bur Dubai in 1958, housing the Shiva Mandir, Krishna Mandir and a gurudwara. The Shiva Mandir and gurudwara moved to a new Jebel Ali temple opened on 5 October 2022, built for about 60 million dirhams; the Krishna Mandir remains in Bur Dubai.
