Tres Hermanas Falls, Tiered waterfall in Otishi National Park, Peru.
Tres Hermanas Falls is a multi-tiered waterfall in Otishi National Park that descends about 900 meters through a deep canyon system. The cascade flows down in distinct sections before joining the Río Cutevirini below.
The waterfall became known through photography by Alejandro Balaguer while he was researching nearby cascades in the region. His documentation brought attention to this remote natural formation.
The waterfall system holds significance in the Junín region, where local communities maintain traditional practices within the protected natural environment.
The best time to visit is between May and September when water flow is lower and access is easier. Planning ahead is important since this site sits within a protected park area with limited facilities.
The waterfall comprises three main sections with each individual drop exceeding 180 meters into the gorge below. This uncommon structure of multiple large plunges creates a rare geographical formation in the Andean region.
