Cajatambo Province is an administrative province in Lima Region that spreads across mountainous terrain divided into five districts. The area ranges from lower valleys to high alpine zones with peaks reaching over 6,000 meters.
The area was part of Ancash Region from 1851 to 1916 before being integrated into Lima Region. This administrative shift shaped the province's political structure and regional identity.
