Turvo State Park

The protected area spans 17,491 hectares of Upper Uruguay forest, containing numerous plant species and a diverse population of native wildlife.

The Brazilian government established Turvo State Park on March 11, 1947, to safeguard the untouched lands along the Uruguay River banks.

The park serves as an educational center for environmental research, offering opportunities to study regional ecosystems and wildlife behavior patterns.

Access to the park requires an entrance fee, with visits limited to specific days and strict regulations prohibiting camping, fishing, and pets.

The Yucumã Falls within the park form a geological formation in the Uruguay River, extending across the riverbed as the second-widest waterfall system.
