Jorcada, Mountain summit in Potosí Region, Bolivia
Jorcada rises to an elevation of 5,735 meters above sea level with a prominence of 1,027 meters in the Bolivian Andes mountain range.
The northwestern fissure of Jorcada experienced its final volcanic eruption approximately 95,000 years ago, marking the end of its active geological period.
The stratovolcano complex stands as a testament to Bolivia's natural formations, drawing geologists and researchers to study its volcanic structures.
The mountain features multiple craters ranging from 200 meters to 1.5 kilometers in diameter, offering various climbing routes and observation points.
Four distinct fissures contain over 50 craters, small stratovolcanoes, and lava domes spread across 230 square kilometers of mountainous terrain.
