International Bridge of Integration

The International Bridge of Integration connects Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil to Presidente Franco District in Paraguay, stretching approximately 760 meters across the Paraná River. The structure provides adequate clearance above the river to accommodate water traffic and regional navigation.

Construction began as part of bilateral infrastructure initiatives between Brazil and Paraguay to strengthen their border relations. The project reflects both nations' commitment to improving trade routes and transportation networks in the region.

The bridge serves as a tangible connection between Brazilian and Paraguayan communities in the Triple Frontier region where three nations meet. It creates a new crossing point that brings daily interaction between people from both sides.

Visitors can observe the construction progress from public viewpoints along the riverbank on both sides. The best times to visit are during drier months when the river is calmer and visibility improves for viewing the structure.

The structure was designed with a notably high clearance of about 60 meters to prevent obstruction of river traffic. This significant vertical span often goes unnoticed by visitors who focus on the bridge's role as a border crossing.
