Memorial Luiz Carlos Prestes is a cultural centre and memorial on Avenida Ipiranga in the Praia de Belas neighbourhood of Porto Alegre, designed by Oscar Niemeyer. Its curved walls evoke the Coluna Prestes, and a red wall displays 135 photographs donated by Anita Leocádia Prestes, daughter of Prestes and Olga Benário. A corridor leads to a 25-seat auditorium, with a larger room for exhibitions and debates.

In the late 1990s, nearing Luiz Carlos Prestes's centenary, city councillor Vieira da Cunha (PDT) proposed a memorial, and under mayor Olívio Dutra the corner of Edvaldo Pereira Paiva and Ipiranga was granted, with the foundation stone laid in 1998. Construction only began in 2008 through a partnership with the FGF, which needed land for its headquarters. The memorial opened on 27 and 28 October 2017 with lectures, documentaries and musical performances.

The red wall along the curved corridor holds 135 photographs given by Anita Leocádia Prestes, daughter of Prestes and the German revolutionary Olga Benário. They trace his ninety years, from the Prestes Column to his years as a communist leader. At the end of the corridor a 25-seat auditorium hosts talks and film screenings.

The memorial stands at the corner of Avenida Ipiranga and Edvaldo Pereira Paiva in Praia de Belas, on the site granted in 1998. Inside, a corridor lined with the photo wall leads to a 25-seat auditorium, and a second, larger room hosts exhibitions and debates. Allow time for both rooms.

The red wall inside is lined with 135 photographs given by Anita Leocádia Prestes, Prestes's daughter with the German revolutionary Olga Benário. The curves of the building echo the route of the Coluna Prestes, the march led by Prestes through the Brazilian interior in the 1920s.
