National Library of Zimbabwe

The National Library of Zimbabwe contains vast collections of documents, books, and multimedia resources spread across multiple specialized departments and reading rooms.

The institution began as a records center in 1966 and transformed into a national library through the National Library and Documentation Service Act of 1985.

The library maintains extensive collections of Zimbabwean literature, traditional manuscripts, and historical records that document the nation's cultural development since 1899.

The facility provides low-cost storage services for government departments while offering public access to reference materials and delineation reports of local communities.

With only five staff members managing the entire institution, the National Library continues to serve as the primary lending and documentation center in Zimbabwe.
