Karang Tengah is an administrative district in Tangerang City comprising seven neighborhoods with varied residential characteristics. The communities developed at different rates, creating a mixed urban landscape with both older and newer residential areas.
The district was created in 2000 as a result of separating from the larger Ciledug district. This administrative reorganization established it as an independent area within Tangerang City.
Each of the seven communities in Karang Tengah maintains distinct residential developments, reflecting the modern Indonesian urban planning approach.
The Jakarta-Merak toll road passes through the district, with the KM 11 toll gate serving as a major access point. This road connection makes it easy to reach neighboring areas and move between different parts of the region.
The district serves as a primary gateway to Tangerang City due to its strategic location bordering West Jakarta.
