SHIA railway station, railway station in Indonesia
SHIA railway station is a rail facility at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang that connects travelers between the airport and Jakarta. Located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the station features two platforms with safety doors, waiting areas on the ground level, and a Skytrain connection on the upper floor linking to the airport terminals. The service runs frequently throughout the day on the Soekarno-Hatta Line toward Manggarai station in central Jakarta, covering the journey in under one hour.
The station opened in late 2017 and began service in early 2018 to provide a fast rail connection from the airport to the city center. A temporary closure occurred in February 2018 due to a nearby landslide, though operations resumed quickly once safety was confirmed.
The station is located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with clear signage and walking paths that make it straightforward to find the station and reach the terminals. Visitors will find ticket machines accepting cards only, waiting areas, free WiFi, restrooms, prayer rooms, and small food outlets for snacks and drinks, along with a helpdesk staffed with personnel for assistance.
The Skytrain line on the upper level connects the station directly to all three airport terminals, allowing travelers to switch between them without leaving the station. This integrated design is particularly helpful for passengers transferring between flights or needing to visit multiple terminals.
