Airlangga Museum

The Airlangga Museum is a history museum in Mojoroto that exhibits artifacts from ancient Indonesian kingdoms. The collection includes stone carvings, inscriptions, and religious statues that document various artistic periods of the region.

The museum was founded in 1992 after the collection was relocated from the Tirtoyoso Bath House, where it had been stored since 1951. The objects originally came from Kediri Square and document the legacy of the Kadhiri Kingdom period.

The collection displays statues of Hindu and Buddhist deities that reflect the religious traditions of East Java. These works show how faith and artistic expression were intertwined in the ancient region.

The museum is easily accessible on most weekdays, with extended hours on weekends. It is advisable to visit in the morning to enjoy the best lighting and fewer visitors.

The collection showcases the artistic transition between Central and East Java through works from the Kadhiri Kingdom period. These pieces are rarely seen and reveal how artistic techniques evolved across the regions.
