Mount Ginini, Mountain summit in Venterman, Australian Capital Territory
Mount Ginini is a 1,762 meter summit in the Brindabella Range, covered by snow gum woodlands and eucalyptus forests that vary with elevation. The vegetation changes as you climb, creating distinct zones across the mountainside.
The mountain served as a landmark and reference point for indigenous peoples who lived in the region for thousands of years. Established pathways connected different territories across the landscape.
The surrounding Namadgi National Park contains numerous Aboriginal rock art sites, reflecting thousands of years of continuous indigenous presence.
The walk starts from Corin Dam car park and is steep with significant elevation gain. Bring plenty of water and weather-resistant clothing, as conditions on top can change quickly.
The summit hosts an Airservices Australia facility for the AERIES communications network that relays messages between air traffic control and aircraft. Most visitors are unaware of this working infrastructure at the top.
