Victoria Bridge, Picton, Allan truss bridge in Picton, Australia
Victoria Bridge extends 82.3 meters across Stonequarry Creek with three spans of 27.4 meters each, featuring timber trestles reaching 31.4 meters in height.
The bridge, designed by Percy Allan and constructed by C J Foord, opened on October 7, 1897, marking sixty years of Queen Victoria's reign.
The structure represents a period of engineering advancement in New South Wales, when American bridge design principles gained recognition in Australian infrastructure.
Located on Prince Street, the bridge operates as a one-way traffic route with a 2.4-meter height restriction and includes a separate pedestrian walkway.
The bridge stands on the tallest timber trestles in New South Wales and remains one of the oldest surviving examples of Allan truss engineering.
