SkyPoint Observation Deck, Observation deck at Q1 building in Surfers Paradise, Australia
SkyPoint Observation Deck is an observation platform in the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise, located around 230 meters above ground. Two separate viewing levels provide sightlines that stretch across the region from Brisbane toward Byron Bay.
The platform first opened to visitors in October 2005 under the name Q1 Observation Deck. A complete renovation took place in 2010 after Ardent Leisure took over management of the site.
The deck hosts rotating exhibitions and live performances from local artists. You can experience the creative work and expression of people from the Gold Coast here.
Fast elevators take you to level 77 in about 43 seconds, where the viewing decks are located. The site stays open until 9 PM, so you can plan evening visits to see the city lights.
Visitors can climb up the outside of the building while wearing safety harnesses, adding about 40 meters of height to their ascent. This climbing route follows nearly 300 steps along the exterior of the structure.
