W. M. Keck Observatory, Astronomical observatory at Mauna Kea, United States.

The W. M. Keck Observatory contains two telescopes with 10-meter primary mirrors at 4,145 meters elevation near Mauna Kea's summit point.

The Howard B. Keck Foundation provided 70 million dollars in 1985 for the construction of Keck I, which received first light in 1990.

Nobel laureate Andrea Ghez performed her groundbreaking research on supermassive black holes using the advanced instruments at this astronomical facility.

The observatory operates specialized cameras and spectrometers for astronomical observations across visible and near-infrared wavelengths throughout the year.

Each primary mirror consists of 36 hexagonal segments working together through active optics technology to function as a single reflecting surface.
