Hawaii's 2nd congressional district, Congressional district in Hawaii, United States
Hawaii's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district in Hawaii, United States. The district covers Oahu outside Honolulu, Maui County, Hawaii Island, and Kauai.
The district was created in 1971 after Hawaii ended at-large representation for the entire state. The division established two separate constituencies for the growing state.
The district represents diverse communities across multiple islands, incorporating both suburban neighborhoods and agricultural regions with different local traditions.
The representative's office is located in the Prince Kuhio Federal Building near Honolulu Harbor. Inquiries and concerns are handled there during regular business hours.
The district stretches over more than 330 miles of open ocean between the outer islands. This spread makes it among the most geographically dispersed constituencies in the country.
