Galleta Meadows Estate, Desert sculpture park in Borrego Springs, US.
Galleta Meadows Estate is an art park in the desert with over 130 steel metal sculptures spread across multiple plots of land. The works show dinosaurs, animals, and human figures in different sizes and positions.
A private collector purchased the land in 2008 and commissioned a local artist to create the metal sculptures. The project began with the goal of turning the desert into an open-air art gallery.
The sculptures show desert animals, prehistoric creatures, and local figures that blend with the harsh landscape. Visitors see the area's history and way of life reflected in these metal works.
The park is free to visit year-round and can be explored by car or on foot. The best time to photograph is early morning or late afternoon, when the light is softer.
A 350-foot steel worm shape juts out from the sand and looks like it is crawling through the landscape. This artwork is especially striking at sunset, when long shadows seem to intensify the sense of movement.
