North Shore Beach and Yacht Club

The building opened in 1959 as part of a major development to establish a modern marina on Salton Sea. It began as a yacht club and was later adapted to function as a cultural center under Riverside County management.

The museum preserves artifacts and stories from the North Shore region, showing how recreational boating shaped community life in the mid-20th century. Visitors can see objects and displays that reflect the social importance of waterfront recreation during that era.

The site is open to visitors and offers tours of the exhibition areas with information about the region's maritime history. Parking is available on-site and the building is fairly easy to reach from the main road.

In the 1950s and 1960s, famous entertainers like Jerry Lewis, The Beach Boys, and the Marx Brothers docked their boats at this yacht club. The presence of these celebrities made it an important gathering place for the entertainment industry of that era.
