Fuente de la Diana cazadora, Monumental fountain on Costera Miguel Alemán, Acapulco, Mexico.

The Fuente de la Diana Cazadora is a monumental fountain on Costera Miguel Alemán featuring a five-meter-tall bronze figure of the goddess Diana. The statue stands on a wave-shaped steel base standing ten meters high and occupies a central location where multiple zones of the city converge.

The fountain concept was created in 1942 under President Miguel Aleman as part of an urban development program to decorate important street intersections. The original smaller sculpture was later replaced with a larger version to achieve better proportions with the redesigned base.

The goddess Diana is shown here as a symbol of hunting and courage, with her arrow pointing toward the sky rather than into the forest. This interpretation blends ancient mythology with modern Mexican identity and has become a landmark that locals and visitors recognize as emblematic of the city.

The monument sits at a central intersection that is easy to reach and offers good views of the city's different neighborhoods. The location serves as a natural meeting point from which you can easily walk to other areas on foot.

The statue was replaced in 2017 with a version five times larger to better match the size of the wave-shaped base. This change was necessary to ensure the original smaller artwork stood in proper proportion to the redesigned surroundings.
