Construction of this modern building began in March 2009 and was completed on March 30, 2011. The project marked a turning point in Tuxtla Gutiérrez's urban infrastructure and shaped the city's role as a regional administrative and communications center.
The building displays Maya hieroglyphics on its glass panels and incorporates poetry from Chiapas writers Rosario Castellanos and Jaime Sabines throughout its design.
