Torre Chiapas

Torre Chiapas is a modern high-rise structure with 22 floors reaching approximately 104 meters tall, located in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. The building houses offices, government departments, television studios, and public service areas, with nine elevators connecting the floors and a helipad situated on the roof.

Construction of this modern building began in March 2009 and was completed on March 30, 2011. The project marked a turning point in Tuxtla Gutiérrez's urban infrastructure and shaped the city's role as a regional administrative and communications center.

The building displays Maya hieroglyphics on its glass panels and incorporates poetry from Chiapas writers Rosario Castellanos and Jaime Sabines throughout its design. These references to regional literature and ancient symbols add layers of meaning that visitors notice as they move through the spaces.

The building is easy to access and well-signed, with multiple elevators providing quick movement between floors. Visitors should be aware that some areas may have restricted access during certain times, so it is helpful to check ahead about which sections are available to explore.

The entrance design reinterprets the classical Maya arch through modern geometric patterns and structural elements. This approach subtly connects contemporary architecture with the region's indigenous heritage.
