Park of Chiapa de Corzo

Park of Chiapa de Corzo is a public garden in the town center with pathways, benches, and green spaces for people to spend time outdoors. Two notable structures define the space: a clock tower with Mudejar architecture and a historic fountain situated at a central intersection.

The site was established in 1528 by Dominican friars at the location where Spanish settlers discovered a water spring. This spring was later commemorated by the Pila fountain, which still stands in the park today.

The park serves as a gathering space where the community celebrates local traditions and hosts events throughout the year. It functions as a place where people naturally come together to experience cultural moments that matter to the town.

The park is accessible through several entry points with plenty of seating to relax and watch the daily activity. Local artisans and vendors sell their products around the perimeter, adding to the local shopping experience.
