Tuxtla Gutiérrez México Temple, Religious temple in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico.
The Tuxtla Gutiérrez Temple is a modern house of worship built with white marble and topped with a central spire featuring an angel statue. Inside are two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, a baptistry, and a distribution center that supplies religious materials.
The building was announced in 1999 and construction started in March of that year. The dedication ceremony took place the following year.
The temple holds deep meaning for local members who previously had to travel long distances for religious ceremonies and community gatherings. This place became a center where people could practice their faith without such difficult journeys.
The grounds are accessible and accommodate visitors who want to attend ceremonies or take a tour of the building. It is best to visit during daylight hours when the various rooms are available for guided tours or personal exploration.
This was only the sixth temple of its kind built in Mexico, fulfilling a long-held wish for the local community. Its location in the Chiapas highlands makes it a geographic landmark for the region.
