The Museo de Arte del Tolima displays 500 works of Colombian art, including pre-Columbian artifacts and contemporary pieces from regional and national artists.
The museum opened its doors on December 19, 2003, established by artists Dario Ortiz, Julio Cesar Cuitiva, and Margareth Bonilla Morales as a cultural center.
The collection features works by prominent artists such as Epifanio Garay, Ricardo Acevedo Bernal, Fernando Botero, and Leonora Carrington, representing Latin American artistic movements.
Located at Carrera 7 No 5-93 in Belén district, the museum opens Monday and Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The museum hosted the exhibition 'Botero in Ibagué' in 2008, attracting over 60,000 visitors to experience Colombian art in the Tolima region.
