Parque Natural Regional Santurbán Mutiscua-Pamplona

The Santurbán Mutiscua-Pamplona Regional Natural Park extends over 9,389 hectares of Andean forest and páramo ecosystems at elevations between 2,102 and 4,135 meters.

The area received official protection status in December 2015 under the management of Corponor to preserve its water resources and biodiversity for future generations.

Traditional indigenous communities maintain connections to the land through sustainable agricultural practices and serve as guardians of the páramo ecosystem.

Visitors should carry at least 2 liters of water and warm clothing as temperatures range from 6 to 15°C, with trails requiring 8-10 hours for round-trip completion.

The park houses 226 bird species and multiple endangered mammals while storing significant amounts of carbon in its forests and soils.
