Monteverde Theme Park, Nature theme park in Monteverde, Costa Rica
The Monteverde Theme Park contains terrariums with over 25 frog species and a butterfly farm housing 30 different butterfly species within climate-controlled environments.
The establishment of this nature park followed the founding of Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve in 1972, after Quaker settlers preserved land for watershed protection.
Naturalist guides lead educational tours through the exhibits, explaining the life cycles of amphibians and butterflies native to Costa Rica.
The park welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with adult admission tickets priced at 13 dollars for access to all exhibits.
This location features the only nighttime zip-line system in Costa Rica, consisting of 8 cables that traverse through the tropical forest canopy.
