Battle of Otumba, Historic battle in Mexico

The Battle of Otumba was a significant confrontation between the Spanish conquistadors and allies against Aztec forces.

Fought on July 8, 1520, it followed the Spanish flight from Tenochtitlan during La Noche Triste.

The battle is commemorated for the role it played in the eventual fall of the Aztec Empire.

While no major monument exists at the battle site, it remains an area of historical importance.

Legend holds that the tide of the battle turned when a Spanish soldier killed an Aztec standard-bearer.
