Bioparque de Convivencia en Pachuca, Hidalgo, Biological park and animal rescue center in Pachuca, Mexico
The Bioparque de Convivencia is a biological park and rescue facility for injured wildlife in Pachuca that spans several hectares. It includes an aviary, primate areas, observation zones for large cats, water recreation spaces, and an outdoor theater for educational programs.
The site started in 1978 as a children's playground and later became Pachuca Zoo. In 2014 it transformed into a specialized rehabilitation and relocation center for wildlife.
The mascot names come from the indigenous Otomi language, linking the park to the region's pre-Hispanic roots. This language choice reflects how locals view their connection to nature and traditional heritage in everyday life.
The park is easy to navigate with clear paths between the different animal areas. Weekday visits work better for seeing animals more active and enjoying the space with fewer crowds around.
This holds Mexico's first and Latin America's second center dedicated to rescuing, relocating and rehabilitating wildlife. The facility attracts experts from many countries who come to learn from its specialized rehabilitation methods.
