Xel-Ha Park, Natural aquatic theme park in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Xel-Ha Park is a water park and amusement complex on the Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo, built around a natural lagoon and a system of interconnected coves. The site covers a broad coastal area where salt water and fresh water meet, forming a calm pool for swimmers and snorkelers.
Archaeological evidence shows that this stretch of coast served as a stopping point for Maya traders traveling by sea. Later the area was developed for tourism, retaining the old name that refers to spring water.
The park integrates elements of Mexican cuisine through multiple restaurants that serve regional dishes prepared with local ingredients from the Yucatan Peninsula.
The admission ticket covers the use of life vests, snorkel equipment, and lockers, allowing visitors to move freely across the lagoon. Bus connections run from larger towns along the coast and bring travelers directly to the entrance area.
Several cenotes open beneath the walkways and trails, so that while walking through the park you suddenly come across natural wells and underground water pockets. These openings in the limestone layer show how the entire area is threaded by a network of caves and rivers.
