Brickell Flatiron is a glass-clad residential skyscraper in Miami's Brickell neighborhood that rises to about 736 feet across 64 floors. The triangular tower contains around 527 housing units with views toward Biscayne Bay and the downtown skyline.
The development was first proposed in 2006 but encountered several years of delays during the Great Recession. Construction finally began in 2015, representing a significant moment in the neighborhood's revitalization.
The building takes its name from its distinctive wedge shape, which echoes New York's famous Flatiron structure. This design choice connects the place to a broader architectural tradition recognized across the continent.
The best view of this structure is from street level, particularly from the corner where South Miami Avenue and Southeast 1st Avenue meet. Since this is a private residential building, the interior is not open to the public.
Mexican architect Enrique Norten designed the building while Italian designer Massimo Iosa Ghini shaped the interior spaces. This cross-continental collaboration reflects the global character of contemporary Miami.
