Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Indoor roller coaster at Epcot, US.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is an enclosed coaster in the Epcot park in Bay Lake, Florida. The ride launches backward at the start and then shifts into rapid forward motion through dark spaces filled with projections and light effects.
The coaster opened in May 2022 at the site of the former Universe of Energy pavilion and brought Marvel characters into this theme park for the first time. The transformation removed the earlier exhibition about energy sources and created a new building for the coaster system.
The vehicles spin independently from the track direction, so riders face different ways as the story unfolds on multiple levels around them. The entry area presents scientific exhibits in a museum-like setting before the ride begins.
The attraction uses a virtual queue system or Lightning Lane access, and riders must be at least 42 inches (107 cm) tall. Strong spinning motions and sudden acceleration make this less suitable for people with back or neck concerns.
Each ride is accompanied by a randomly selected song from the 1970s or 1980s that plays through individual speakers behind every seat. The music selection includes six different tracks and changes the experience on each run.
