Bay Lake is a city in Orange County, Florida, covering more than twenty square miles of land and waterways with residential buildings and leisure facilities. The settlement sits within the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and is home to fewer than thirty people.
The city was established in 1967 through Chapter 67-1104 of the Florida Laws, signed by Governor Claude R. Kirk Jr. Since then, the administrative structure has existed to coordinate local services and infrastructure across the territory.
The city maintains an exclusive residential community, with inhabitants consisting of employees working in the surrounding entertainment and tourism sector.
The city operates with a council-manager system, where five elected officials oversee municipal matters. Visitors will find no public facilities or shops here, as the territory mainly hosts leisure attractions.
The municipal territory holds four major theme parks, even though the permanent population consists of fewer than three dozen people. Most residents live here because they work at the surrounding leisure complexes and mainly serve to maintain the city's administration.
