Innoventions, Interactive technology exhibition in Future World, Epcot, United States
Innoventions was an exhibition pavilion in the Future World area with two buildings positioned east and west of the central fountain. The spaces contained interactive stations covering topics like energy transportation communication and home technology with rotating exhibitors and demonstration areas.
The exhibition opened in 1994 replacing Communicore which had existed since the park opened in 1982. The concept shifted multiple times between gaming displays and technology demonstrations until both buildings closed permanently between 2015 and 2019.
The name combines innovation and inventions reflecting how companies used the space to show prototypes and working models. Visitors could test products before they reached stores creating an early form of public product testing.
The exhibition was air-conditioned and offered seating between stations making it a good retreat on hot days. Some demonstrations ran continuously while others occurred at set times with staff providing explanations when needed.
The two buildings originally had different focuses with Innoventions West concentrating on home and communication while Innoventions East showcased gaming and entertainment technology. Tom Morrow 2.0 was an animated robot head on a screen that guided visitors through areas while singing songs about technology.
