Morocco Pavilion, Themed area in Epcot, Florida, United States.
The Morocco Pavilion is a themed area in Epcot featuring narrow streets, tiled fountains, carved doorways, and winding paths that reflect traditional Moroccan architecture. The space includes multiple shops selling handcrafted goods, two restaurants, and various exhibition areas connected by paved walkways.
The pavilion opened in 1984 as part of Epcot's World Showcase expansion and received direct support from regional artisans. This collaboration resulted in authentic mosaics and architectural details that remain intact today.
The space takes its name from the country it represents, and every visible detail was created by artisans from that region. Visitors encounter intricate patterns and carvings throughout, reflecting how central craftwork remains to daily life and artistic expression.
The site is easy to walk through with wide pathways and clearly marked areas. Visitors should plan time for multiple restaurants and shops, and note that the entire area gets crowded during peak hours.
The pavilion contains a precise replica of a famous minaret and displays Islamic geometric patterns throughout. These patterns follow an age-old artistic tradition that intentionally avoids depicting human figures.
