Norway Pavilion, Norwegian themed area in Epcot, Florida, US.
The Norway Pavilion is a Norwegian-themed area in Epcot featuring a Stave Church replica and structures that represent architectural styles from Bergen, Oslo, and Ålesund. The complex spreads across about 58,000 square feet and includes dining venues, shops, and galleries throughout.
Crown Prince Harald V of Norway officially dedicated the pavilion in 1988 with a live broadcast sent back to Norway. Norwegian investors funded the project, which led to shifting the initial Scandinavian multi-country concept to focus solely on Norway.
The Stave Church interior displays artwork depicting Norse mythology and traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship. Walking through the shops, visitors see handmade goods and regional sweets that reflect how Norwegians preserve their heritage through everyday objects.
The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall offers dining experiences with Disney characters, while Kringla Bakeri serves Norwegian pastries and sandwiches. Visitors should arrive early or make reservations since popular eating areas can get crowded during peak times.
The pavilion started as a multi-national Scandinavian project meant to represent several countries in the region. It was later reshaped to focus on Norway alone after Norwegian financial partners took the lead in sponsoring it.
