Germany Pavilion, Themed area in World Showcase, Epcot Florida, US.
The Germany Pavilion is a themed area in World Showcase featuring traditional architecture with stone buildings, timber framing, and Gothic details arranged around a central plaza with a St George statue. The space includes multiple shops such as Das Kaufhaus department store, Volkskunst clock shop, and Weinkeller wine shop selling German goods.
The pavilion opened on October 1, 1982, as part of the original World Showcase launch. Early plans included a Rhine river boat ride that was never constructed, which would have featured miniatures of German landmarks.
The Biergarten Restaurant features live folk music performances while diners gather at shared tables within a recreation of a 16th-century marketplace setting.
The pavilion is easy to navigate with restaurants, shops, and entertainment all located together. It works well to visit earlier in the day when it is less crowded, or to stop by Karamell-Küche between meals for a snack.
Karamell-Küche operates as a working production kitchen for Werther's candy, creating fresh caramel and candy treats daily for visitors. Guests can watch through windows as the sweets are made throughout the day.
